Soweto Uprising 1976

Updated: Jun 20, 2019

I am very priviledge to go on a trip to visit Johannesburg, Soweto and Ulusaba (Sir Richard Branson's Private Game Reserve in South Africa) together with a group of outstanding entrepreneurs and Sir Richard Branson. During this trip, I am very humble and honoured to get to meet Antoinette Sithole in Soweto.

Antoinette Sithole & Eirik Moseng

Antoinette is the sister to Hector Pieterson from iconic image 1976 Soweto Uprising. A news photograph by Sam Nzima of the mortally wounded Pieterson being carried by another Soweto resident while his sister ran next to them was published around the world.

My meeting with Antoinette made a strong impression on me. It is a powerful reminder of the importance of the Freedoms of Peace, Health, Education, Equality and Justice.
